No Monkey Butt here

Living in southern Indiana is a fun experience, we are just 5 miles north of Kentucky. When we moved here it took a bit to get accustomed to the culture. The people are friendly and warm. When passing anyone in a car you usually get a nod or a wave. This area has a large population of German Catholics, it embraces its history and people with festivals, churches, schools, and lots of good food. The area was rich in farming when we moved here, but like anything else, that has changed. So many farm fields are now housing developments. I miss driving down roads that had corn like a wall on each side and plenty of birds, possums, raccoons and deer. We are in a valley surrounded by three rivers. the Ohio, the Green and the Wabash. Often referred to as River City or much less kindly, the armpit of Indiana, that is from a ENT doc. (we all have sinus problems here) Upon moving here we learned that we MUST go to Rural King , everyone shops there. You can get your horse tack, ammo, ti

Time flies

Add some spray paint and a new back ground, spaceship and a plant. Now you can see time flies, but don’t know how fast. I have been neglecting my blog reading. Things that have kept me busy: 1. Frogging my lace shawl, I have been looking at this and doing a lot of sighing. I finally decided that I would frog it and make something else with the yarn. I’m thinking toe up socks, I like this pattern from Wendy Knits . It is a simple pattern and I need to make a fast pair of socks. I switched to a hand spun yarn that a friend of mine spun, and I have had for a time, waiting to use it. Crap, now that I see the pics, I think the original looks pretty good. 2. Still slowly knitting on my purse to be felted from Bags that Rock book. 3. Had a soap cozy marathon one night while mindlessly watching TV. 4. Primarily I am in a yarn work mania, it has been three years since I have gotten into the beds and properly weeded, planted and mulched. My nails and

What I’m up to

Some inspiration from a glue page, thanks Paula the Quilter !! One of the nice things about knitting is that you can forget any “I need to be right crap” It can just unfold as it will, you can change the pattern, make one of your own, yes, and even frog it. There is no “wrong” way to do it. I think there will be someone out there that sweater will fit. Or maybe your felted purse will turn into a iPod cozy. There doesn’t have to be any “rules”, so let your hair down, go sit in the sun, put on some music and pick up those sticks and get some pretty yarn. I’m making another felted bag, I hope this one turns out a good size. I am using The Propeller Pattern from Bag that Rock by Kelley Deal . But I’m modifying it some, by using two colors and I am going to do the duplicate stitch propellers in the opposite colors, of the area that they land on, so each propeller will be two colors. Lost?? More photos soon. Made another wire bird house, pattern to follow…. And have b
